How to sell USDT in Nigeria safely
Selling USDT for naira is simple once you know the few things that matter: the right network, a trusted buyer, and confirming payment before you consider the deal done.
1. Know which network your USDT is on
USDT exists on several networks, such as TRC20 (Tron), ERC20 (Ethereum) and BEP20 (BNB Chain). Sending on the wrong network to an address that doesn't support it can mean losing your coins.
Always confirm the network with the buyer before you send, and copy the wallet address they give you exactly.
2. Agree the rate before you send
Get the naira rate in writing first, and ask whether any fees apply. A good service tells you the full amount you will receive upfront.
3. Send a small test first if you're unsure
For a large amount or a new buyer, a small test transaction shows the address is correct before you move the rest.
4. Check your bank app, not a screenshot
Fake payment screenshots and fake bank alert messages are common. Only treat a trade as paid when the money shows in your own bank app balance.
5. Keep your details private
- Never share your wallet seed phrase or private key — no genuine buyer needs it.
- Never share bank PINs, passwords or one-time codes.
- Only give the account number and name needed to receive payment.
