What to check before selling cryptocurrency
A few minutes of checking before a sale can save you from the most common and costly mistakes.
Before you send anything
- The exact coin and network the buyer accepts.
- The wallet address — check the first and last few characters after pasting.
- The agreed rate, the total naira amount and any fees.
- How and when you will be paid.
- That the bank account name you gave matches your own account.
About the buyer
- Do they have a clear, consistent way to reach them?
- Do they explain their process without pressure or rush?
- Can you find honest feedback from people who have used them?
After you send
Keep the transaction hash (ID) from your wallet. It is your proof that the coins were sent, and it helps if anything needs to be checked.
Wait for the payment to appear in your bank app before closing the conversation.
